I am so excited to be able to bring you the fabulous Softlips Holiday products! They sent me their holiday balms to review and tell you guys about! There were quite a few:

This year, Softlips has created their awesome double packs with holiday flavors AND special gift tags built in! I love this little addition because it makes holiday gift-giving that much easier and these make great stocking stuffers!!

This year they really went all out and came out with a bunch of new holiday flavors. My absolute favorite is the Jack Frosting, meant to smell and taste like buttercream frosting, this lip balm doesn't disappoint! It's delicious! And it has all the wonderful properties of all the Softlips balms: 20 spf, lip protectant, and that awesome minty hint! 

Raspberry and Vanilla are tried and true flavors that I adore! Vanilla was my very first Softlips flavor when I was about 6 years old! Raspberry is special because it has green tea extract for extra moisturization and protection! I think that's really neat.

The Pearl is an interesting balm that I'm not the biggest fan of just because I don't like shimmer, however, I have to say that mine went on smoothly and smelled good and moisturized just like the rest! So if you like a hint of shimmer, that would be good for you :)

Sugar Plum Berry is a festive flavor that is really sweet and wonderful. Wintermint is a great flavor that tastes like spearmint gum! Peppermint Stick tastes just like it's name and has a really adorable packaging for the season, it looks like a candy cane!! Sugar & Spice is really nifty because it tastes like it has holiday cooking spices in it, which I dig. 

So all in all I thought this round of new flavors and holiday packaging was really awesome. Good work, Softlips! Go out and find yours now at Target and Wal-Mart in the cough and cold aisles and in the checkout lanes!

New Goody Spin Pins Review!!

Goody Spin Pins!!!

 I got to test out these Goody Spin Pins through Influenster's Beauty Blogger Voxbox, and I couldn't be happier. These are little metal swirly pins that you can use to do up your hair style (mostly buns). They are durable and affordable at around $7-8 a package. I bet they will last my whole life if I don't lose them!! 

They're very easy to use and really keep your hair style in place. You don't need to use anything but these pins, maybe a few extra bobby pins sometimes to keep everything in place. But I like the messy look so sometimes I let the flyaways hang free!!!

So what you do is, you arrange your bun as you normally would, tucking in the ends. Then, you take your first pin, and at 12 o'clock on your bun, twist the pin clockwise, close to your scalp. Continue to hold the bun and take the second pin, at 6 o'clock on your bun, and spin it in, clockwise, on top of the first one, making sure not to intertwine them. It may sound a little hard to explain but it's so easy :) 

When you want to take them out, just spin each pin counterclockwise and let your hair down!

I am so glad to have been able to test these out! I went and bought another set when I found out they were this cool. I hope you like this review and try these out for yourself!

Elebra is an amazing new product that has only 40 mg of caffeine per pill, and tons of awesome vitamins and minerals to help you focus! This product is fantastic. You can take 1, 2 or 3 pills. 3 is the "serving size" equaling 120 mg of caffeine.

When you take Elebra, it doesn't take long for it to work, and you start feeling very focused and good. It doesn't give you that jittery feeling at all! I am very sensitive to caffeine and so I can really tell if it's too much. So for me, just one pill has amazing effects. I love the way it makes me feel. Honestly, it gives me a little euphoria! I feel like I can do anything I need to, and I don't feel jittery or hot or anxious at all, like some other energy pills make me feel.

The pill itself is just in a little clear cellulose capsule, with the proprietary blend inside. It's so good for you, it smells like vitamins!

I normally take one pill in the morning after my breakfast. In fact, I think it works BETTER with food. And then I drink a ton of water while using it. I normally drink a ton of water anyway, but it's important to drink lots of water when taking energy pills. In my experience, one pill lasted me about two hours, so I would think that the whole 3 pills would last about 4 to 5 hours! 

This product is all-natural and vegetarian. It does NOT contain: dairy, fish, gluten, peanuts, shellfish, tree nuts, wheat OR yeast, with no artificial flavors or colors. It contains vitamins B1, B2, B6 and B12 (energy support), Niacin, Folic Acid, and Biotin. In the proprietary blend there is Guarana seed extract, Ginseng, Gotu Kola, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Gingko Biloba, Co-Enzyme Q-10 and many more amazing ingredients. Let me tell you, this stuff really works and works well, without any of the nasty caffeine feelings.

I received a small sample of this amazing product in, I think, my July Beauty Army box (beauty sampling subscription, beautyarmy.com). I was really excited to try it, and it did not let me down :) 

     This product is a rich creamy rouge that is highly pigmented, soft, very blend-able, long lasting, and has a pretty deep red color that can be blended out to be pink for cheeks or more concentrated red for lips. A little teensy bit of this product goes a really long way! It comes in this beautiful red and gold re-usable tin that I absolutely adore. It's vintage style and it's all natural as well. My sample jar is still lasting me, and I keep that in my purse now. I actually bought the product as well, and I keep that in my bathroom cabinet (it's so pretty!).  I use it every single day! It really is something that I love because it's a dual-purpose product as it works to rosy up your cheeks AND lips. It looks really good and it really does last all day :)

Recently I was lucky enough to receive their Watermelon flavor from Softlips to try out and review!! I also wanted to throw in a couple other products that I think are absolutely noteworthy in the Softlips line, which are the Pure line Pomegranate flavor and the Softlips Pearl Gloss. THANK YOU, SOFTLIPS!


The Watermelon flavor is pure awesome-ness. Let me start by saying that this is a fan-picked flavor, meaning that we all voted, and Softlips made it for us! I think it is just a seasonal flavor, but it's good enough to be made an all-time flavor, in my opinion.

When you open it up, the smell is divine. Just like watermelons in summer. Then you put it on your lips and notice that it still has the signature under-minty taste, but that the force is strong with watermelon. It's delicious! Perfect for summer. It is moisturizing and smoothing, and has such a nice soft texture! I've been using Softlips lip balms since I was about 6 or 7 years old, and they have always been so amazing. It gives you a little bit of a soft sheen, too, so your lips look only the slightest bit moist :) Easy and fun to apply, cute packaging, and just a really nice, subtle flavor, but good smell of watermelon!

Next we have the Pure Pomegranate, and the fun thing about this one is it comes from Softlips's "Pure" line of lip balms that are made with only natural and organic ingredients! I love this one! It doesn't have the signature under-minty taste, and it is so smooth and delicious. This one is a bit thicker than the original formula, which is fantastic in my opinion. I love both! In fact, I might even say that I like the Pure a little better! It's really quite soothing and wonderful. If you use lip balm all the time, I would absolutely recommend this one, because it lasts a little longer and is a little thicker and feels really good! And obviously I love that it's all natural and organic:) I even love the packaging!

And finally we have the Pearl gloss! This is a new item, and they also came out with a Coral color, but I have yet to test that one out! The Pearl gloss is really nice because it's a soft sheer pink, it's not sticky at all, and leaves a nice (not TOO glossy) gloss on your lips. It is also moisturizing and protecting, with an SPF of 10. I am going to be using this a lot now that fall/winter are quickly coming on! (I'll also be using the balms a lot, but I do that anyway lol). This lovely gloss also smells like vanilla cupcakes :) A really nice gloss and the price is absolutely right! They have really affordable lip care, guys, this stuff is amazing and affordable!!


My story with Softlips:
When I was really young, I went about once a month to visit my aunt in Houston (from Austin). And we'd go shopping, watch movies, and hang out. She ALWAYS had at least a couple of Softlips tubes on hand, and Softlips was my VERY FIRST lip "gloss" (as she called it). So I started using Softlips at a young age and never lost my love for it! It really is perfect as a little girls first "makeup". I continued to use Softlips ever since!!! So I always think about my Aunt Ann when I use them :)

These two products have been working great for me! I started using them about a week ago now, and they have kept my skin clear and beautiful!

*A little background on my skin: I have a "normal" skin type, maybe leaning a little on the oily side. But I normally have clear, soft skin that isn't dry or too oily, either. But when I go on vacation or road trips, and I happen to go to a different climate, my skin freaks out a little bit!!! Recently, my husband and I took a trip down to Austin, TX, which is where we're both from. My skin, which is now used to Fort Collins, CO, (pretty dry and cool) weather, started to get uber oily and weird (it's very humid and muggy in Austin). By the time we were heading home, I had quite a few breakouts. My skin slowly started to recover after we got home, and then I saw Evologie's sample giveaway, and it was actually just what I had been looking for!! I had been wanting a blemish serum and a blemish cream to top it off.

Well, I received the sample duo (thank you, Evologie!) and started using them right away. With daily cleansing, this duo made my skin quickly clear up and go back to normal.

You're supposed to use the serum as a little spot-treatment on your individual blemishes, which is great because a little goes a long way!!! You can put one little dot on your finger, and then dot that on each blemish you have and it'll coat each one. This works really well.
Then you apply the cream to the whole face, or cover your t-zone and problem areas with it. I love the consistency of it, and this cream also goes a long way with only a little. It doesn't leave my face feeling weird, in fact, it leaves it feeling smooth and good, and even moisturized! I've really enjoyed using these products, and am very much thinking about getting the full-sized products to continue using! They're that good!!

For someone who only has occasional breakouts, having something like this around is really great. I can use the cream to keep my skin clear and healthy and beautiful, and I can use the serum on the rare occasions that I have some big bad blemishes!!! Thank you Evologie!

You're supposed to take one chew per day, and it boosts your immunity, slows oxidative damage and reduces inflammation! powbab was generous enough to send me a few samples to try, and I'd like to tell you about my experience and about the chews!

Baobab has 2.5 times more antioxidants than pomegranates and has been eaten for thousands of years by Africans for nutrition.

I got the pomegranate/acai berry flavor, and I have to say: I totally wish you were supposed to have more than one per day!!! These tiny chews pack a flavorful punch. You just unwrap the little silver wrapper on the chew, and on the inside is a small square, beautiful pinkish red fruit chew that tastes sweet and tart, has the perfect consistency, and is over all too quick! I like to savor it, and chew it for a while so that I can get all the taste and (in my mind) release all the vitamins! I really love the flavor and the chewiness. 

powbab is gluten, dairy, soy, nut, and egg FREE. It doesn't have salt, synthetic flavors, or preservatives either! They are also vegan and use fair trade practices! "Organic Baobab fruit pulp is naturally 50% fiber- no synthetics added. Our mission is to make a supplement as natural as possible" How cool is that?!

A little note on the Baobab tree: "Baobab, an ancient superfruit, is known as "The Tree of Life" in Africa. Baobab fruit pulp is sustainably harvested, preserving Africa's trees and local rural villages. So if you're looking for an all natural alternative to pill-form vitamins and minerals, I would say go powbab! The health benefits, the taste, the convenience, and basically everything about this product makes it perfect for someone like me who hates taking pills and always forgets my vitamins. Black Widow Balm Review

Black Widow Balm Review!

Black Widow Balm was nice enough to send me one of their tinted lip balms to test out and review. The color/flavor I got was ORB which is a delicate, coral-y pink color and has lavender and sweet almond essential oils in it. This is what it says on the website:

This lip balm is so amazing!!! It has the perfect color for my skin tone, it is very moisturizing and soft. The texture is great, not too slippery but not too thick, either. I love the fragrance, as well, very calming and delicate. I've never tried a tinted lip balm like this before. It glides on so smoothly, and the color payoff is good while not being too heavy. You can layer for more color, but I find that the first application is enough!! It doesn't send that weird flavor down your throat like other lip balms sometimes do. The balm is a lovely color, a great scent, and absolutely moisturizes and protects your lips. I would recommend this balm to any lady who loves tinted lip balms!!! It's really perfect because you can take it everywhere, use it for a balm, but add a little color and glamour wherever you are!!! Thank you so much, Black Widow Balm!
